Registered, approved and compounded mean different things.

Myth to test
Do official-sounding words all mean the same thing?
Short answer
Neither registration nor a drug listing establishes that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted product approval, as checked in September 2026.
Separate the code from the review
An NDC is a National Drug Code used in a drug directory; having one does not show the FDA approved the product.
- Compounded means made to order; the product does not have FDA approval.
- Ask what the word proves in this case, and where that can be checked.
- The words below can help turn a vague answer into a precise question.
